Bi-Weekly eBay Grails 7/31

I’m not a parent. I’ve never claimed to be one, but last weekend I experienced something that is on par with any trauma a parent has experienced on behalf of their child. Giving up full custody of the Friday blog slot was hard. There was at least ten to fifteen minutes of deep, deep sadness. But, just as I imagine a parent feels after submitting to shared custody of their child, I started to think of the upside. Every other Friday is now mine to do whatever I want. No more annoying child to get in the way. It’s also made the time I do have to spend with the kid slightly more bearable. When it begins to get on my nerves, instead of giving up on it, I take a deep breath and tell myself that next Friday will be so much better.

In a really unexpected way this blog has prepared me for motherhood.
