I confess that, despite my best efforts, even I seem to have fallen for the trends. No, I’m not running around in overly baggy trousers and my taupe Birkenstock Bostons were purchased on deep discount in 2019.
However, I do have more Arc’teryx jackets than I’d prefer to admit and do enjoy an Adidas Samba. Perhaps I’m being too hard on myself, I tend to like things now that I liked when I was 16 and maybe it’s more than anything proof that everything is trendy at some point and things that were once cool always make a come back.
Suddenly, I can afford the things I’ve wanted for a long time — Undercover, random knick-knacks from Japan, Guidi. It’s thrilling to be able to make purchases I’ve dreamt of since I was a teen. The challenge, though, is combining the things that excited the Jack of years past with my present self.
In attempt to make things fit together inside, I have turned to old faithful, the moodboard. Yes, I know, JTTB has an already thriving moodboard but the images that please me tend to be somewhat different from how I want to present myself to the world.
Enough with the gab —
